Petition to Have Inclined Bed Therapy Evaluated in Clinical Trials

Dear Friends,
I just created the petition "Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) For Our Hospitals" and wanted to ask if you could add your name too.
This campaign means a lot to me and the more support we can get behind it, the better chance we have of succeeding. You can read more and sign the petition here:
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/inclined-bed-therapy-ibt-for-our-hospitals
Thank you!
Andrew
P.S. Can you also take a moment to share the petition with others? It's really easy – all you need to do is forward this email or share this link on Facebook or Twitter:

I would like to submit photos of my improving leg spider veins thanks to IBT. How can I do this? My email is trevor25220@yahoo.com

I have been on a 6" raise for 23 days and will try an extra 2" tomorrow.

Tip for buying wood: buy 3" x 3" x 59" 'treated fence posts' at a little over £4 each. They will cut to length free. A joiner will slice them lengthwise, 1.5" or 2" thick, for £10, to make various raises. I then wrap them completely in wide brown plastic packing tape for a neat appearance.

I am so happy to have found your work :-)
I came to it having typed shark catatonia into google and finding a comment of yours in response to "why do sharks go all soppy?". I had recently been trying to find anything that would explain the "psychic pillow" posture in human catatonia and had been looking at effects on intra cranial pressure etc. I truly believe that the behaviours in catatonia are an attempt to return to homesostasis. This could be the key to understanding it all...thankyou so much!

After a month on a 6" raise I just went up to 7¾" and immediately noticed less pain on arising. Is there any practical UPPER limit on the maximum head-end raise? Thanks.

Andrew - I found your IBT recently and am sharing it with all who will listen. About asthma responding to slowed breathing, etc. YES, what you said exactly conforms with the Buteyko breathing method. Untold thousands of cures by this Russian method. I taught myself Buteyko and at age 65 easily swim 25 meter laps on a single breath. I am now hoping my newly inclined bed will reverse a moderate case of Dupuytrens disease in my hands. Keep up the good work. All great discoveries face initial rejection, a price of genius.
Cheers,
Charles S

Hi Janet, I wrote to Dr Oliver Sacks about using IBT as an intervention for people in catatonic state, though never did receive a reply. I too believe it is the key to unlocking this condition. My Father was in a coma and we were told he had hours to live. He had multiple organ failure, along with pancreatic cancer that had spread to his liver and closed his bile ducts. His legs were massively swollen.

Within an hour or so of his bed being tilted, his urine ran clear and he woke up. His legs returned to normal size rapidly and he enjoyed 8 more months of life at home. His cancer got the better of him. A stent was inserted to relieve the bile duct.
